Our Story
Born from the community, built for the community — discover the people and purpose behind NJINGULA.
A Story of
Resilience & Hope
NJINGULA was founded in 2009 by a small group of community elders, women leaders and youth advocates who refused to accept violence as their community's permanent reality.
They gathered under an acacia tree with a simple conviction: peace is possible when people are given the right tools, spaces and respect. What began as neighbourhood peace dialogues grew into a structured organisation, formally registered in 2011.
Today we operate across 47 communities, serving over 12,000 beneficiaries annually with a dedicated team united by the tagline: Building Peace. Nurturing Harmony. Transforming Lives.

Our Strategic Pillars
Community-Led
We co-design every programme with the community. Top-down solutions do not create lasting peace.
Evidence-Based
All programmes are monitored rigorously. We report honestly — positive or negative — and adapt accordingly.
Inclusive
We serve everyone regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender or social status. No one is excluded from peace.
Sustainable
We build local capacity so that communities become self-sustaining long after our direct intervention ends.
Transparent
Every shilling is accounted for. We publish audited annual reports and hold quarterly community accountability forums.
Collaborative
We work alongside government, civil society and the private sector — because peace is everybody's business.
Be Part of the Change
Peace is not the absence of conflict — it is the presence of justice. Help us build it, one community at a time.
